Arthur Traiger

August 25, 1927 - May 15, 2020

Arthur William Traiger, beloved husband of Dorothy Traiger, passed away on the morning of a new spring day, May 15, 2020, at 1:58 a.m., at age 92. Arthur was the proud father of Ilene Traiger (Ridgefield, CT), Saul Traiger (Los Angeles, CA), and Laurence Traiger (Munich, Germany); grandfather of nine grandchildren; great grandfather to six with the seventh on the way. Arthur’s progeny inherited his zest for life, his courage, and integrity. He was a leader, a teacher, a potter, a skier, a ski instructor and a world traveler, living and working in Mishima, Japan for ten years following 30 years in the New York City school system. After Japan, Arthur and Dorothy, moved to Sandy, Utah where he was a ski instructor at Brighton Ski Resort for twenty years. He finally retired to Ridgefield, CT in 2014. He was a lover of the arts and literature, and an inspiration to his children, his nephews and nieces, and to his students.

He will be missed.

May he Rest In Peace.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers or gifts, donations in Arthur’s memory be made to American Jewish World Service.
